Write a cover letter from your resume
Attach your resume and a job posting in the WordGPT chat, ask for a letter, and edit it until it sounds like you.

There is no special "cover letter" button in WordGPT, and you do not need one. The chat can read your resume and the job posting and write the letter from both. Here is how.
Get your resume into the chat
Download your resume as a PDF first: in Resume, open the Publish tab and press Download PDF. Then start a chat from your dashboard and use the paperclip (Attach a file or document) to add the PDF. You can also type @ to pick a file that is already in your Files library.

Ask for the letter
Paste the job description into the message, then say what you want. For example:
Write a cover letter for this job, using my attached resume. Four short paragraphs. Friendly and direct. Use only what is in my resume.
Being specific helps. Say who it is addressed to, how long it should be, and the tone you want.
Edit it
The letter appears as a document next to the chat. Ask for changes in plain words, for example "shorter", "less formal" or "open with my teaching experience". You can also click in the text and edit it yourself.
Read the letter closely:
- Names, dates and numbers must be right.
- Remove claims you would not say out loud in an interview.
- Add one sentence only you could write: why this company, why now.
Download it
Use Download on the document and choose Word document (.docx) or PDF (.pdf). Word is handy if the employer wants a file they can open, and you can still edit it there.
Tips
- One letter per job. A good letter mentions the role by name.
- Do not repeat your resume line by line. Pick the two or three points that match the job best.
- Ask the assistant to "point out anything in this letter that is not in my resume", then check the list.
