Turn bank statements, invoices and receipts into a spreadsheet

A bank statement is easy to read and hard to calculate with. Copying rows by hand breaks columns and merges dates. WordGPT reads the document as a table instead.

Steps

1. Create a free account and open the chat from your dashboard.
2. Attach your statements, invoices or receipts with the paperclip (Attach a file or document). PDFs, scans and photos work; scans are read with OCR.
3. Press the suggestion Extract to a spreadsheet.

You can attach several files at once. If the files are all the same kind, say so, so they end up in one table.

Tell it which columns you want

Be specific. Good examples:

• "One row per transaction: date, description, amount out, amount in, balance."
• "One row per invoice line: invoice number, date, supplier, description, quantity, unit price, total, currency."
• "One row per receipt: date, shop, total, VAT."

The assistant makes the table as a file you can open in a spreadsheet program. Preview it beside the chat before you download it.

Check before you trust it

This is the step people skip. Before you use the numbers:

• Add up the table and compare it to the total on the document.
• Check the first and last rows against the original.
• Look for rows that are missing or doubled at page breaks.

If something is off, say what is wrong: "the row for 14 March is missing", and ask again.

Privacy

Statements are personal. Only attach what you need, and remove files you no longer want from your Files library. The free tool pages say that their previews do not store your file.
